Preface
Dharohar is working in some devoted issues of tribal and slum’s women; sustainable livelihood, Health & Nutrition, environment, micro enterprise, Cluster Development, employment generation by handicraft based activity with fair trade principals in state of Gujarat. Dharohar Foundation believes that participatory approach of skill development and community participation at grassroots level is one of the keys for success of our activities. Foundation is working on cluster development activities in handicraft sector for last 6 years. It is implementing an income augmentation program for Adolescent girls and women. They are formed into Self Help Groups and engaged in handicraft based income generation activities .We would never forget the felt support and positive attitude of the community towards our programs, and at this juncture we are also inviting them to come closer and extend their full cooperation in the development process that is meant for them..
The genesis of Dharohar lies in the fact, that after working with tribal women artisans in the eastern part of Gujarat for many years, realized the need for a professional organization to bring forth and support huge potential for the development and benefit of rural artisans from the untapped regions across Gujarat. Its aim to provide comprehensive training and support services that enable tribal families to earn home based livelihood through their traditional handicraft skills
